Blue Flags: Puglia Shines with 27 Award-Winning Beaches

A Sea to Fall in Love With

Once again this year, Puglia has achieved an outstanding result, earning 27 Blue Flags. The latest awards from the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) once again recognize the commitment and professionalism of Puglia’s tourism sector. Thanks to this achievement, Puglia ranks among Italy’s most awarded regions, coming second only to Liguria.

The Blue Flags certify the beauty, quality, and efficiency of beaches and seaside services, providing an additional guarantee for anyone planning a holiday along the coast of Puglia.

But which locations received this prestigious recognition?

The 2026 summer season begins with three new entries and two departures: among the newcomers are Morciano di Leuca, Tricase, and Acquatina and Idrovora di Frigole (Lecce). Meanwhile, Patù and Castrignano del Capo lost their Blue Flag status.

For those who wish to explore these award-winning beaches, the journey from the north of Puglia to its southernmost tip is long, diverse, and full of surprises. It begins in the Province of Foggia with Cala delle Arene in the Tremiti Islands; Riviera di Ponente and Riviera di Levante in Rodi Garganico; Sfinale, Gusmay, Baia di Calalunga, Baia di Manaccora, Baia San Nicola/Zaiana, Procinisco, and Baia di Peschici in Peschici; San Lorenzo and Scialara in Vieste; and Lido in Zapponeta.

In the Province of Barletta-Andria-Trani, the awarded beaches include: Centro Urbano-Cannafesca in Margherita di Savoia and La Salata, Salsello, and Scogliera Scalette in Bisceglie. Moving further south, in the Province of Bari, Blue Flags were awarded to beaches such as Cala Paura, San Vito, Ripagnola-Coco Village, Cala San Giovanni, and Cala Fetente in Polignano a Mare, as well as Castello Santo Stefano, Capitolo, Lido Porto Rosso, and Cala Paradiso in Monopoli.

In the Province of Brindisi, the awarded beaches include Egnazia Case Bianche, Savelletri, and Torre Canne in Fasano; Creta Rossa, Lido Fontanelle, Lido Stella, Litorale Parco Dune Costiere, Litorale Rosa Marina, and Litorale Torre Canne Sud in Ostuni; and Mezzaluna, Pantanagianni, Punta Penna Grossa, and Specchiolla in Carovigno.

Nine municipalities in the Province of Lecce received the award: San Cataldo, Acquatina, and Idrovora di Frigole in Lecce; Roca, San Foca Nord/Centro/Torre Specchia, Torre Sant’Andrea, and Torre dell’Orso in Melendugno; La Zinzulusa and La Sorgente in Castro; Marina Serra and Tricase Porto in Tricase. Also awarded were Torre Vado in Morciano di Leuca; Marina di Pescoluse/Posto Vecchio/Torre Pali in Salve; Torre San Giovanni/Torre Mozza/Lido Marini in Ugento; Litoranea Sud and Litoranea Nord in Gallipoli; and Porto Selvaggio, Sant’Isidoro, Santa Caterina, Santa Maria al Bagno, and Torre Squillace in Nardò.

The Province of Taranto also celebrates its beautiful beaches awarded with the Blue Flag: San Pietro in Bevagna in Manduria; Commenda, Campomarino, and Acqua Dolce in Maruggio; Lido Gandoli, Porto Pirrone, Portosaturo, and Baia d’Argento in Leporano; Marina di Pulsano in Pulsano; Riva dei Tessali/Pineta Giovinazzi/Castellaneta Marina/Bosco della Marina in Castellaneta; and Marina di Ginosa in Ginosa.

The Blue Flag is not just an award, but a recognition granted only after meeting 33 strict criteria, including waste management, wastewater treatment, pedestrian areas, cycling paths, accessibility services, water quality, and much more.
